Adoption of Planning Policies

Closing date for this notice:   31 May 2013

Adoption of Revised Parking Policy (5.1)

At its meeting of 26th February 2013, Council endorsed revised Parking Policy (Policy 5.1). The Policy sets out requirements for access and parking provisions for non-residential development and includes measures to provide for and encourage greater use of alternative transport modes, reducing reliance on the car.

The Policy consists of parking ratios, concessions on parking requirements and cash-in-lieu for parking provisions.

More information, along with a copy of the Policy, is available on the Access and Parking page, or contact Planning Services on 9 347 6045.

Adoption of Aged and Dependent Persons' Dwelling Policy (3.11)

Aged and Dependent Persons' dwellings provide the opportunity for small-scale specialised housing in local communities and are one option to meet the growing need for housing for the aging population and people who wish to downsize and live in their local area.

At its meeting of 26th February 2013, Council endorsed the Aged and Dependent Persons' Dwelling Policy (Policy 3.11). To provide more flexibility to provide this housing type, the Policy reduces the requirement to receive site area reductions under the R-Codes from five dwellings to only two dwellings (or one dwelling where an existing dwelling is retained).

More information, along with a copy of the Policy, is available on the Aged and Dependent Persons Dwellings page, or contact Planning Services on 9347 6045.
