History of the Quarry
The Quarry Amphitheatre is one of Perth's most unique and breath-taking outdoor performance venues.
Situated high up on Reabold Hill, the Quarry Amphitheatre was once a working limestone quarry, employing up 50 workers at its peak and supplying limestone to many of the early buildings in Perth.
After ceasing operation in 1906, the quarry was abandoned for eighty years until in 1986 it was converted and reopened as a performance venue. It has since seen hundreds of local and international acts take to the stage under the stars to delight audiences in a truly unique setting.
This documentary was commissioned by the Town of Cambridge in 2017 to celebrate The Quarry's 30th Anniversary as a performance venue. Watch as this former working quarry is transformed into the iconic Quarry Amphitheatre we see and enjoy today.
