Aiming for maximum recovery!

The Town's latest waste education strategy, to encourage maximum recycling resulting in less waste going to landfill, is the aptly named 'MaxRecovery' campaign.

MaxRecovery's aim is exactly that - to maximise the amount of recycling and green waste disposed of using recycling and green waste bins - resulting in an increased percentage of waste being recycled and consequently diverted from landfill.

It aims to highlight the environmental and financial benefits of recycling, and encourages using the General Waste bin as the 'bin of last resort'.

If you'd like to get involved in the MaxRecovery campaign but don't have a green waste bin, order one online here.

The MaxRecovery campaign follows the Town's previous 'Sin Bin' waste education program, and will see a fortnightly feature in The Post Newspaper as well as direct mail packages to residents. The packages provide residents with useful hints and ideas in the form of brochures, flyers, fridge magnets and other supporting material.

View below the 2012/13 Waste and Recycling Guide sent to ratepayers with their rates package, together with current advertisements encouraging the maximum recovery message.
