Disability Access and Inclusion Plan
The Town of Cambridge is currently undergoing a review of its Access and Inclusion Plan. We are committed to providing services that allow a quality lifestyle for residents with disabilities and would like members of our community to take part in a survey that will assist in this review. Have-A-Chat Program
The Town's Have-A-Chat program is an opportunity for young people aged approximately 18-25 with a disability to come together to socialise and enjoy a range of acitivities. The program is run at the Town's Wembley Community Centre, but also includes outings to lots of great places. The group meets every fortnight on a Tuesday from 5pm-8pm. Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee was formed in response to the Disability Services Plan which ensures that people with disabilities have access to Council's functions, facilities and services. 2009 Nominations for the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee have now been finalised.

Access and Services
A Disability Services Advisory Committee conducts access audits on the Town's facilities and services. Access and service achievements include:
- A hydraulic chair and accessible steps for pool users at Bold Park Aquatic Centre
- Housebound readers service
- Talking books and closed circuit television at the library
- Council information provided in large print or audio
- Assistance to people with disabilities to have their rubbish bins emptied
- A path at Rutter Park to access the barbecue area
- An accessible barbecue area at Perry Lakes, with toilet and parking
- An accessible nature trail, boardwalk and lookout at Lake Monger
- Double parking time for Acrod Permit holders in kerbside restricted areas
- Large print Community Directory
- A Senior Services Community Development Officer was appointed
- Installation of accessible playgrounds at Lake Monger Reserve and Perry Lakes Reserve, including footpaths to both
- Installation of tactile paving, curb ramps, extra footpaths and pedestrian crossing signals

Home and Community Care Services
A number of programs and services offer assistance and social opportunities and to eligible seniors, and assist in maintaining an independent lifestyle for those with disabilities. Services include:
- Two Centre Day Clubs
- Domestic Assistance program
- Personal Care, Social Support and Home Respite programs
- Wembley Community Centre Seniors Activities
Cambridge Senior Services is also funded to provide assistance to Veterans under the Department of Veteran's Affairs Home Care Program.
