This year’s event saw 24,000 participants running, walking, and rolling their way through the 4km and 12km courses, finishing in a lively celebration at City Beach Oval. This included 'Team Cambridge', made up of a record-breaking 71 members, included Town Cambridge employees, Elected Members and family and friends.
The finish line precinct featured a carnival to celebrate the event’s 50th year with live music, free rides, and delicious food, all while supporting a vital cause. As a proud supporter of this iconic event, the Town of Cambridge was delighted to see so many community members come together for Activ Foundation.
Reflecting on the event, Mayor Gary Mack said, “The Chevron City to Surf for Activ embodies the spirit of our community - bringing people together for a worthy cause while celebrating fitness and fun. It’s inspiring to see so many from Cambridge and beyond participating in this milestone event.”
Adding to the success of the day, the event has raised nearly $400,000 so far, with funds going directly to improving the lives of West Australians living with disabilities.
During the April 2024 Ordinary Council Meeting, Council unanimously voted to allocate just over $28,000 in the 2024/2025 budget, along with fee waivers and other in-kind support, in sponsorship of the event - reflecting a total value of nearly $84,000.
