The Wembley Golf Course driving range will temporarily close from 21 July to 5 September 2025 to allow for essential maintenance and upgrade works to enhance the facility.

Rectification works to remove surface corrosion from metallic elements inside and outside the building will proceed without impacting the facility’s structural integrity, with all other areas of the golf course facilities remaining open.

Following expert advice and a formal tender process, the Town of Cambridge engaged Kilmore Group Pty Ltd – specialists in remedial construction – to complete the project. Works include the treatment or replacement of corroded elements, installation of a new façade, improved drainage, and replacement of three staircases and balustrades.

The upgrades will renew the building structure in line with the Town’s asset management principles: prevent further deterioration, reduce reactive maintenance costs, improve overall building aesthetics, and help maintain the quality of the facility offering.

Mayor Gary Mack said the project reflects the Town’s commitment to maintaining first-class public facilities.

“This is an important renewal and upgrade that will extend the life of the building and enhance the experience for all users,” Mayor Mack said.

“Along with the practical outcomes, the improvements to the building’s appearance and amenity will ensure the Wembley Golf Course complex remains ‘Australia’s best public golf experience’.”

All other areas of the facility will remain fully operational during the closure, including the golf courses, mini golf, custom fitting studio, bar and restaurant, and the children’s playground.

Golf lessons and clinics will continue using alternative practice facilities on-site. For bookings and current availability, please visit the Wembley Golf Course website.

Patrons and residents can keep up to date on the works via the project page on the Town’s website.
