Temporary Stallholders (non-food) Application

To display goods on public property that is Town owned or managed you must apply for a Temporary Display of Goods Permit.

Step 1.Prepare your documentation

Ensure you have a digital copy of the relevant documents and certificates such as a plan, photos or accurate sketch of proposed area and display structures and public liability insurance (if applicable).

Step 2.Read the conditions

Conditions governing application:

  1. I am the proprietor of the Shop/Business listed in the application;
  2. the goods referred to above complies with the requirements of the Local Government and Public Property Local Law and the Council Policy No 4.4.5;
  3. the display referred to above will be maintained for the whole period of the licence in a safe condition in accordance with the provision of the Local Law and the Council Policy on such displays;
  4. a public liability insurance policy, to the value of $10,000,000 will be maintained throughout the whole of the period for which the licence has been granted;
  5. a minimum distance of 600mm to the kerb and a maximum distance of 2600mm from the kerb will be maintained to ensure the free passage of persons using the footpaths and;
  6. I will ensure that the goods display is removed each day at the close of business and allow for the area to be swept or any other specified work to be carried out;
  7. I will ensure that the goods display is removed on the expiry date mentioned above; and
  8. I understand that, if such conditions are not fully and completely adhered to, I will be solely responsible for death of or injury to any person and damage to any property, which may result from this breach of conditions of the licence.
