City Beach coastal precinct lighting is being upgraded to bring the technology up to date and provide lighting levels adequate to meet AS1158. Stage one works included carpark lighting and CCTV (now complete). Stage two works will provide lighting to the pedestrian pathway network, including the demolition and removal of the existing high-mast tower lights which have reached their end of life.

The project scope includes:

  1. Detailed design and documentation for installation of lighting to the pedestrian pathway network;
  2. Tender drawings and specifications;
  3. RFT/Procurement;
  4. Regrading if built up turf areas adjacent to pathways so as not to affect lighting installation;
  5. Demolition and removal of mast tower lights; and
  6. Construction & installation of new lighting.

Progress Update

Works are nearing completion with all lighting apart from two mast light poles installed and operational.

The remaining two high mast poles require new foundations and this final project work is expected to be completed over the next 1-2 weeks.

Regrading of built up turf areas adjacent to pathways has been completed and new turf has been laid.
