Kingsland Park is a local neighbourhood pocket park in City Beach located on the corner of Kingsland Avenue and West Coast Hwy. The park assets are ageing and the playground has been identified as requiring replacement through our playground audit inspection program. Community feedback has also identified a need to install barrier fencing and buffer planting between the playground and West Coast Highway. The park will benefit from hydrozoning and native planting for more efficient water usage.

Scope

The Project scope includes:

  1. Community engagement to understand the current use of the park and identify community needs
  2. Design phase
  3. Procurement of contracts and services
  4. Construction

Community input on the design will be sought from residents surrounding the park as a survey.

Progress Update

Project scoping and engagement are completed. The Town reached out to users of Kingsland Park to seek feedback on the use and values of the park via an online survey. A concept design for the overall park upgrade has been developed to include the outcomes of the survey and can be viewed in the attached documents.

Procurement is complete with works expected to commence late in April 2025 and run through to the end of May 2025.

During the construction period the park will be closed.
