Burning Off
Burning off is prohibited within the Town of Cambridge at all times. This practice is generally reserved for rural and semi-rural properties so they can proactively avoid the spread of fires, but as the Town of Cambridge does not have any of these property types there is no need for Burning Off.
The Town's Health Local Law 2016 states " A person must not, set fire to, or cause to be set on fire, or burn any rubbish or refuse". Any person who commits this offence may be subject to a penalty.
Keeping your lawns watered and trimmed is key to protecting your home.
The Town provides green waste bins and conducts regular bulk green waste collections to help keep your properties clear of unwanted vegetation and natural fuels.
