2019 Australia Day Festival

Saturday, 26 January 2019 | 08:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Australia Day is a great opportunity for people of different backgrounds and experiences to gather together and reflect on what it means to be Australian, and to celebrate the things we have in common.

Join us for a true Aussie style celebration under the shady gum trees at Perry Lakes with a free BBQ breakfast generously supplied by the Lions Club of Floreat, a Welcome to Country, Citizenship Ceremony, live music by the Wesley Goodlet Jamboree Scouts and fun activities for the kids including a water slide, face painting, camel rides, sheep shearing and slithery and scaly friends and much more.

A program of events is as follows:

8.30 am - 12.30 pm

Free BBQ breakfast by the Lions Clubs of Floreat
Free entertainment including live music, children's rides, face painting, giant water slide, animal farm, sheep shearing demonstration and much more

Here's some helpful tips to make your experience even more enjoyable:

  • This is a free family friendly smoke free event.
  • Event parking is available onsite with limited ACROD bays.
  • The event site is accessible, however this is an outdoor event on a grassed area so there may be uneven surfaces.
  • There is seating available located near the BBQ and food trucks, however you are welcome to bring a picnic blanket or low picnic chairs.
  • Free drinking water will be available during the event so please bring your own bottle.
  • Dogs are allowed at this event but have to stay on a lead at all times.
