Growing your own fresh produce is an exciting as well as rewarding prospect, and this fascinating workshop will give you loads of handy information on how to get involved in urban farming.
Run by the innovative team at Green World Revolution (GWR), the free workshop includes an opportunity for participants to grow their own take-home crop of microgreens.
Used as a nutritional supplement, microgreens are also known as vegetable greens and can add sweetness and spiciness to foods.
During the two-hour workshop:
- You will find out about microgreens, their benefits and GWR's work in urban farming and food production during the past 10 years.
- Learn about urban food production/gardening and plastic waste impact and reduction.
At the end of the workshop, there will also be an opportunity for participants to buy a Micro Urban Farm ECO and ECO ABUNDANCE microgreen growing kits, home wares and accessories made by GWR from recycled plastic lids.
As Green World Revolution is a charity, 100% of all sales revenues and profits from workshops go towards its goal of helping 100 long-term unemployed mature age women to re-enter the workforce and for the organisation to divert 1 million plastic lids away landfill.
Registrations for the workshop are essential.
