Ensure you book your Verge Valet or mattress pick up before placing any items on the verge. Your waste can be placed on the verge for a maximum of three days.

Does your mattress still have life in it?

If your mattress is still in good condition please consider donating to a charity that will collect your mattress free of charge, such as the Salvation Army or People Who Care.

The Town of Cambridge mattress collection service allows for the redistribution or recycling of your mattress.

Book your mattress collection HERE before placing your mattress out on the verge as the wait time may exceed the maximum of three days that your waste is allowed on the verge.

Options for Repair, Recycling and Reuse of your items before your Verge Valet™

About Verge Valet™
  • Book your Verge Valet™ collection online before placing your items on the verge.
  • You will receive a reminder to place your items on the verge three days before your allocated collection date. 
  • Verge Valet™ collections for the Town of Cambridge are scheduled for Monday (City Beach, Floreat, Mount Claremont).
  • Verge Valet™ collections for the Town of Cambridge are scheduled for Wednesday (Wembley, West Leederville, Jolimont).
  • Verge Valet™ bulk rubbish and/or green waste collections must be booked and collected within the financial year of issue.
  • Each property can book two bulk wastes and one green waste per financial year. Residents can book extra collections and pay the contractor directly.
  • You can swap both bulk waste collections for green waste collections if required, but not vice versa. 
  • You can book both bulk collections at the same time if you have a lot of waste.
  • Garden Waste Bags are available for sale at the Customer Service Desk, Administration Centre, 1 Bold Park Drive in Floreat.
  • Verge Valet™ is available for residential ratepayers only – businesses are able to use the pre-paid 'Verge Valet™ Extra' version by calling (08) 6336 7223.

Properties not eligible for Verge Valet™
  • Perry Lakes Estate.
  • Jolimont (Hortus Way, Pollen Grove, Tiller Lane and Anther Lane).
  • Frontage onto laneways.
  • No available front or side verge (due to either size or garden).
  • Non-residential rate paying properties (businesses, clubs, etc)
Items by Verge Valet™
  • No mattresses - this a separate service.  See above.
  • No beanbags or items containing polystyrene balls.
  • No tyres, wheels or car parts - a fee can be paid to dispose of these at the West Metro Recycling Centre. (map) (fees)
  • No glass panels or surfaces. (eg. table tops and mirrors)

Tip Passes

If you are not eligible for Verge Valet services (eg Perry Lakes Estate, or have no verge available), please email mail@cambridge.wa.gov.au to enquire about obtaining tip passes for your property.

If you are part of a Multi-Unit Dwelling please ask your Strata or Council of Owners, in the first instance, if they have been in contact with Verge Valet and the Town of Cambridge to organise Verge Valet for your loction. If this is not the case you will be offered tip passes.
