The Town is currently preparing a Local Planning Strategy (LPS) to provide strategic direction for future town planning and development, and the review of Town of Cambridge Town Planning Scheme No.1.

The LPS will consider a diverse range of issues including housing and demographics, transport and infrastructure, commercial activity and employment, tourism, community facilities and the natural environment. The LPS will seek to address the Town's requirement to develop options to meet housing targets under the State Government's Directions 2031, Perth and Peel @ 3.5 Million and the Central Sub-regional Planning Framework.

The Town is seeking your feedback on key issues for consideration in finalising the draft Local Planning Strategy.(PDF, 9MB)

Feedback can be provided by completing the Draft LPS Survey (contained under the survey heading on the right hand side of this page). This is the Town's preferred approach for feedback. Alternatively, a submission on the Draft LPS can be made in writing by including the following information:

  • Your Name;
  • The Suburb you reside in;
  • Your age bracket;
  • Whether you are a resident, business owner or work within the Town, or are a visitor to the Town; and
  • Any general comments about the Town of Cambridge's Draft Local Planning Strategy, or any elements of the Strategy (Please state the specific precincts or aspect you are commenting on).

Some frequently asked questions about the draft Local Planning Strategy can be found through the following link: Draft Local Planning Strategy FAQs

Community engagement will occur between Monday 20th August and Monday 17th September.

A display will be available at the Town of Cambridge Administration Centre, 1 Bold Park Drive, Floreat. Officers are available during business hours to discuss the draft Local Planning Strategy with community members and interested stakeholders.
