Mountain Bike Facility Site Analysis

Submissions closing on 25 September 2020, 05:00 PM

The Town is seeking feedback from the community on potential sites for mountain bike trails within the Town of Cambridge.

Three options were identified as potential sites during the recent community consultation relating to the Towns Recreational Cycle Facility Assessment.

During the Consultation, the community was asked to provide input into the selection of sites for a variety of recreational cycle facilities, including pump tracks, BMX tracks, skills tracks, etc.

Of all these trail types, mountain bike facilities attracted the most feedback with almost 50% of all responses requesting mountain bike activities within the Town.

The three sites are presented in the analysis plan and judged on their strengths and weaknesses.

Option 1 - Empire Park

Option 2 - Wembley Golf Course

Option 3 - Former Skyline Drive-In site- located within the boundary of Bold Park ( Please note this option does not include the entire Bold Park area)

(This site is managed by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) and its use for such a purpose is not supported by the Bold Park Management Plan 2016-2021.  It is included as a response to community interest expressed through the initial community consultation process)
