The Town of Cambridge Draft Bicycle Plan 2018 - 2022 is now available online and open for comment.
The Bicycle Plan is intended to assist the Town to achieve its vision of providing sustainable transport opportunities for its residents and visitors, and to enhance the quality of the transport environment through construction of high quality streetscapes, designed for pedestrians and cyclists.
Community consultation is a major component of the Bicycle Plan, allowing cycling organisations and members of the public to provide input to the design and implementation of the final plan. A ‘blank slate’ public consultation process was undertaken in 2016/2017 and consisted of a survey questionnaire, which was available both in hard copy and on the Town’s website, and a community workshop to provide an opportunity for community members to discuss issues directly with the project team. A total of 356 responses were received for the survey. This feedback has been assessed and included in the Draft Bicycle Plan 2018-2022, and final comments are now closed prior to Council considering the Plan.
