Local Laws

Local laws govern activities on land that is owned or managed by the Town, as well as certain activities conducted on private land within the Town.

Local laws have the status of legislation, are enforceable and the Town may authorise officers to enforce the local laws on its behalf.

Local laws must be reviewed every eight years.

Proposed Review of Local Law 43: Buildings on Endowment Lands and Limekilns Estate

The Town of Cambridge proposes to review Local Law 43: Buildings on Endowment Lands and Limekilns Estate, also known as By-law No. 43.

The purpose of the local law is to determine the requirements for buildings on Endowment Lands and Limekilns Estate.

The effect of the local law is that it contains provisions which include various Town Planning and Building requirements, some of which are duplicated or covered in contemporary Town Planning and Building Legislation and Policy.

A copy of the local law may be inspected at or obtained from the Town's Administration Centre at 1 Bold Park Drive, Floreat, between 8.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday, at the Cambridge Library during normal opening hours.

The Waste local law provides for the regulation, control and management of waste disposal in the Town. This is a consolidated local law which incorporates amendments gazetted on 12 January 2018 (Government Gazette No.8).
