Cambridge Street Festival Cancelled

Published on 13 March 2020

The Cambridge Street Festival, which is scheduled to be held between 3pm- 8pm on Saturday 14 March 2020, along Cambridge Street between Simper and Jersey Streets in Wembley, has been cancelled due an inclement weather warning and in consideration of the announcement made today by the Prime Minister Scott Morrison, relating to the banning of non-essential gatherings above 500 people (to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus).

Consideration will be given to holding a bigger and better street festival in the future.

All future Town arranged non-essential gatherings above 500 people will also be cancelled until further notice.

In addition, all non-essential gatherings and events in Town facilities will also be cancelled.

Organisers of these events can contact the Town concerning a refund of their hire fees.

The Town of Cambridge Chief Executive Officer John Giorgi, JP said that is disappointing to call-off the event.

"Public health and safety is paramount." he said.
