Legendary Golfers to Descend On Wembley

Some of Australia's living legends of golf will be among the field of 64 international senior professionals competing in the Legends Pro-Am at the stunning Wembley Golf Course on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 May 2019.
Golf lovers from club champions to weekend hackers will have the chance to get up close and personal to the likes of 1983 Australian Open winner Peter Fowler, US PGA tour winner Peter Lonard and reigning Senior Australian PGA champion Michael Long, as they pit their skills against a privileged field of 64 amateurs.
Long said that the Wembley Course is the most improved in WA and that interstate players will be pleasantly surprised how good it is.
"The course is in great shape at the moment, and with a superb weather forecast for the two days, there could be some low scores shot but there are holes that will test everyone's skill and patience," he said.
Cambridge Mayor Keri Shannon said that the event was a great coup for the Wembley Course.
"At Cambridge we consider the Wembley Golf Course to be the jewel in our Town's crown and I am very proud to show it off to the likes of these legends of the game," she said.
"The event is an incredible opportunity for anyone who plays the game at any level to see these champions in action at close range and perhaps even get the chance to meet them in person.
"I am particularly excited about the event being co-sanctioned by the Asian Senior tour which will hopefully lead to an even bigger event next year."
The event will commence at 11:30am each day on the old course of Wembley at 200 The Boulevard, Wembley Downs.
