On Tuesday, 27 February 2018 Cambridge Council selected Rise as its preferred provider to deliver Home and Community Care (HACC) services to Cambridge residents from 1 July 2018.

The Western Australian Department of Health and the Town of Cambridge jointly awarded the contract to Rise after the Town's recent decision to transition out of HACC services.

Late last year an Expression of Interest (EOI) was issued to find a suitable north metropolitan HACC provider to deliver aged care services to seniors in the Town of Cambridge.

Town of Cambridge Community Development Director, Cam Robbins, says entrusting the delivery of these services to another organisation was a tough decision.

"The Town will now work with Rise to develop a seamless transition strategy for both clients and staff and focus on continuity of high quality care for our HACC clients," said Mr Robbins.

The Town also agreed to a licence agreement for Rise to use the Wembley Community Centre, the Town's day centre that offers social events, outings and group activities for seniors.

Use of the centre will ensure seniors continue to have a friendly and familiar venue to meet and socialise.

Rise CEO, Justine Colyer, says the organisation won't be making any changes to the location or the delivery of current services to ensure minimal disruption for clients.

"We had our first meeting with staff this week and we will be doing everything we can to welcome and support the Town of Cambridge staff as they join the Rise team," said Ms Colyer.

Rise were one of twelve organisations that responded to the Town of Cambridge aged care services EOI.  Organisations underwent a thorough selection process, including service and resource evaluation, interviews and site visits prior to selection.

Rise  has undertaken a number of similar service transitions with other local government authorities and not for profit organisations and has a well-developed road map for ensuring a smooth transition process in the lead up to 1 July 2018 transition date.
