Proposed Meeting Procedures Local Law 2019

Pursuant to section 3.16 of the Local Government Act 1995, at its meeting held on 26 March 2019 the Council resolved to review the Town of Cambridge Standing Orders Local Law 2007.

The Council also resolved to consider the adoption of the Town of Cambridge Meeting Procedures Local Law 2019. The Purpose and Effect being as follows:

Purpose: This local law is to provide rules and guidelines which apply to the conduct of meetings of the Council and its committees and to meetings of electors. Effect:

The effect of these Standing Orders is intended to result in -

(a) better decision - making by the Council and Committees;

(b) the orderly conduct of meetings dealing with Council business;

(c) better understanding of the process of conducting meetings; and

(d) the more efficient and effective use of time at meetings.

A copy of the local law may be inspected at or obtained from the Town's Administration Centre at 1 Bold Park Drive, Floreat, between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and at Cambridge Library at 99 The Boulevard, Floreat during normal opening hours.
