The Wembley Golf Course (WGC) driving range was built in 2010, and is owned and managed by the Town of Cambridge. The building has 80 driving range bays over two levels, along with enclosed training and function rooms, a balcony, and service areas.
At the same time as the 2010 redevelopment, safety netting and fencing was also constructed around the range fairway, to protect staff and customers on and around the facility from errant golf balls.
The Town is undertaking a review of the perimeter fencing to confirm suitability, including consideration against latest ball and club technology. A consultant has been engaged, and subject to their findings, modification or additions to the fencing will be investigated.
