Friends of Roscommon Reserve, a small dedicated group of local residents, are intent on preserving this important reserve and do so by regular weeding, mulching and clean up days throughout the year.
The Friends of Perry Lakes (Inc) was formed by local residents with assistance from the Town of Cambridge in 2021 to help conserve and enhance the Perry Lakes and Alderbury Reserve natural environment. Our activities include:
- Weeding days on the third Sunday morning of each month
- Regular talks and guided walks focused on learning about the local birds, wildlife and vegetation as well as the historical and cultural significance of the area
- Working with the Town of Cambridge to protect and enhance the local environment
- Regular social activities to meet other members of the group.
We encourage people who enjoy spending time at Perry Lakes to consider volunteering some of their time to work with us to enhance the park through weeding and revegetation activities, whilst also learning more about the park and meeting some great new people. Contact us to find out more about upcoming events and how to become a member.
