The Town of Cambridge has received funding from the Western Australian Planning Commission, administered through the Department of Planning Lands and Heritage, to develop a 10yr Foreshore Management Plan (FMP). 

A key recommendation in the Town’s Coastal Hazard Risk Management Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP) 2022 is to develop a Foreshore Management Plan (FMP) to guide future maintenance and planning of the Town’s coastline.

The objective is to establish a management framework to guide planning, development, rehabilitation and long-term management of the Town's coastal foreshore reserve areas.

  • Review scope of works Sept/October 2024
  • Advertise Tender November 2024
  • Appoint Consultant December 2024
  • Inception Meeting January 2025
  • Finalise Community and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy August 2025
  • Review Draft Foreshore Management Plan December 2025
  • Community Feedback January 2026
  • Review final Foreshore Management Plan May 2026
  • Council endorsement and publish on website August 2026

Project Updates

The Community and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy has been finalised. Consultations with key stakeholders are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
