Floreat Beach is a highly valued and popular location within our community. Current parking, access, and limited space for passive recreation are issues that the community and key stakeholders have raised. A notice on motion has been actioned by Council to develop a masterplan for Floreat Beach.

The Town will engage with users and stakeholders at Floreat Beach to determine the common values and key issues associated with the site. This engagement will inform the development of a masterplan that captures the long-term vision of the precinct.

Project Milestones

5. Engage with key stakeholders and community to provide feedback on concept options and develop final concept masterplan

Progress Update

Engagement is complete and a final draft concept design has been prepared.

We reached out to the community and stakeholders to gain further insights into Floreat Beach - it’s highly valued features, its use patterns and any areas of need for improvement. This feedback will help guide the master planning process and delivery of future services, programs and infrastructure in and around the area. 

The feedback from the community engagement process guided the design.

A total of 354 responses were received, and the survey results have been summarised HERE(PDF, 3MB) 

The Town sought  input on the development of the Masterplan from an independent Design Review Panel. The Design Review Panel reviewed the initial concept design and provided feedback to assist us in finalising initial ideas and concept options to present to the community.

We sought applications from the community to be involved in a focus group to meet with the Town to assist with development of the concept design. The Town held a focus group meeting with the selected representatives from the community in October to present, review and workshop the concept design. Based on outcomes of the Focus Group workshop,  the Design was further developed.

The final draft concept is being presented to the Council to seek endorsement.

The Town is exploring external funding opportunities for this project.
