Council Policies

To ensure that the correct protocols are used for 'Welcome to Country' and 'Acknowledgement of Country' and flying of flags.

Adopts full accrual accounting and all other applicable accounting standards in accordance with the Local Government Act.

Provides for the opportunity and environment for art and cultural activities which foster a strong community identity and pride.

Demonstrates Council's commitment to strategic asset management and guides elected members and staff in developing asset plans and programs.

To ensure good asset management, club/community group longevity, intergenerational equity and reasonable user contributions.

Provides for the efficient running of the organisation while ensuring Council exercises good governance as outlined in the Local Government Act.

Provides guidelines for the conditions of use and the responsibility of those applying to use or hire the Town’s community facilities, parks and reserves.

To develop a framework for the establishment and management of community gardens.

Monitors and controls funding allocations for facilities or services to sporting, welfare, cultural, musical, educational or other community organisations or individuals.

Provide guidelines for the management of Elected Members approval of public consultation material and information relating to Strategic Community Plans, Local Planning Strategies, Local Area Plans, Activity Centre Plans, Structure Plans and Scheme Amendments prior to distribution / advertising.
