Hire a Park or Beach

Town of Cambridge parks, reserves, and beaches can be hired for small corporate and community functions, weddings, promotions, filming, performances, and sporting events.

To book a park, reserve or beach the Town requires at least 10 working days' notice. Depending on the location and event type a bond may be required. Town of Cambridge open space use is categorised based on the impact that the event and its application incur on the open space and the Town’s resources. The Event Categories infographic under Related Information is a general guide to these categories. Open space applications are assessed for categorisation individually and so please contact the Town if you require further information. It is a requirement to contact the Town prior to applying if the event is likely to be a Category 2, Category 3, Category 4, or Category 5 event.

For gatherings with expected attendance of fewer than 50 people, with no intention to bring significant infrastructure or require vehicle access onto the reserve and without commercial enterprise, do not require a formal booking. It is advised to contact the Town to ensure your preferred open space is available.

For large scale events with an expected attendance of over 500 people, please see our Hosting a Large Event page.
