Community Funding

1. Overview

The Town of Cambridge Community Funding Programs provide financial assistance to support local community groups and organisations and recognise individual achievement. 

A selection of funding opportunities are available, and eligibility criteria applies.

2. Community Events 

This grant provides funding to local community groups to run small to medium sized free public events attracting over 100 community members.

Applications are open all year round. Grants up to $1,000 are available per application.

3. Community Organisations 

This grant, up to $2,000,  provides funding as either a one-off establishment grant or a grant to assist with service provision and/or purchase of equipment.   

Applications for this grant open each year around August/September.  At that time please check our Public Notices listing where the grant application will be advertised.

4. Community Facilities 

This grant provides funding to organisations to enhance the provision (or replacement) of sporting/community facilities within the Town - such as new facilities, building extensions and/or renovations.

Financial assistance is only be provided to organisations whose membership includes representation of at least 40% Town of Cambridge residents, or the services provided by the group directly benefit a substantial number of Cambridge residents.

Applications must be lodged by 1 December for funding in the following financial year.

5. Community Art 

This grant, up to $2,000, supports initiatives and cultural activities in the Town. It is designed to help professional artists interact with community groups plus promote participation by community groups in cultural activities.

Supported initiatives
  • Non-permanent public art displays (eg. sculptures, sand castle displays, etc)
  • Programs or cultural workshops
  • Roaming entertainment (eg. juggling exhibitions) 
  • Film festivals  

Applications for community art funding open each year in April. 

6. Individual Achievement 

The Individual Achievement grant provides support to individuals recognised for excellence in sport, leisure, cultural and educational activities. The grant helps with travel expenses for those who have been selected to represent Western Australia or Australia either nationally or internationally. Applications of a non-competitive nature are also considered. 

Applications are open all year round, with grants up to $500 available per applicant.

Successful applicants must complete and return an Individual Achievement Grant Feedback(PDF, 59KB) within three months of receiving the grant. 

7. Local Schools 

The local schools grant provides financial assistance to local schools for services and programs that will benefit the Town of Cambridge community. All local schools within the Town are eligible to apply.

Applications for this grant open each year in February.
