Citizenship Ceremonies

Citizenship ceremonies are the final step in becoming an Australian citizen. It is a special occasion for conferees to make their citizenship pledge and receive their Australian Citizenship certificates.

The Town of Cambridge conducts citizenship ceremonies each year. The frequency of ceremonies depends on the number of applications approved by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

Conferees are booked into a ceremony once the DHA has granted citizenship. The Town of Cambridge receives an invitation list 5 to 6 weeks out from a citizenship ceremony from the DHA. The DHA is responsible for the allocation of recipients to citizenship ceremonies, and the Town of Cambridge only receives listings of allocated recipients before each ceremony.
