The Perry Lakes Reserve Management Plan (2021-2031) recommends vegetation surveys and weed mapping to be undertaken at five-year intervals. The last survey of Perry Lakes was conducted in 2019.
To support effective ongoing management, a new survey is now required, this will assess whether vegetation condition and diversity are improving as a result of revegetation and weed management efforts.
The survey will record and map local and significant flora species and vegetation communities within the natural areas of Perry Lakes. It will also map weed species to guide and prioritise targeted control measures over the next five years.
The Town has engaged Natural Area Consulting Management Services to undertake the surveying and mapping. Spring and summer, and Autmun surveys are complete, with the Winter survey expected to be conducted in July/August 2026.
