Live Up

LiveUp is a free online healthy ageing guide that can be accessed from the comfort of your own home. Funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care, LiveUp provides ideas, tools, and guidance to keep doing the things you already love or to try something a bit different.

LiveUp features a simple quiz with expert advice connecting you to local activities, support networks, and assistive products to help with your healthy ageing journey. The guide offers opportunities to maintain or even improve your independence, and add life to your years, not just years to your life!

Council of the Ageing (COTA) WA

The peak national organisation representing the rights, needs and interests of older Australians.  COTA Australia is the national policy and advocacy arm of the COTA Federation which comprises COTAs in each state and territory. COTA Australia focuses on policy issues from the perspective of older people as citizens and consumers.

COTA has developed the 'At Home Guide' to support older Western Australians live well. While it is particularly relevant during a physical distancing period, it is also designed as an ongoing companion for seniors at home. Please view the At Home Guide via the links below:

Seniors Recreation Council (SRC) WA

The peak body for organisations that support seniors' involvement in sport and recreation. The Seniors Recreation Council constantly reviews its strategies to increase the participation of seniors in sport, recreation and associated physical and mental activity.

Stay on Your Feet

Stay on your Feet is provided by Injury Matters and funded by the Western Australian Department of Health. Falls can happen to us at any age; however, changes we go through as we get older can put us more at risk of having a fall. The good news is that falls are preventable no matter your age, and Stay On Your Feet has simple tips and tolls you can use to keep your active and on your feet.

Strength for Life Program

Strength for Life™ (formerly known as Living Longer Living Stronger™) is an evidence-based progressive strength training and exercise program designed specifically for the over 50’s operating in Western Australia since 2004. We currently have 5,436 participants and 44 providers throughout Western Australia including 10 located in Regional WA.

Progressive strength training has been shown to have a huge impact on wellbeing and quality of life. We provide safe, fun and personalised sessions in approved facilities by expert trainers!
