The Town has prepared a Draft Local Planning Strategy (LPS) to provide strategic direction for future town planning and development, and review of the Town of Cambridge Town Planning Scheme No. 1.
The LPS considers a diverse range of issues including housing and demographics, transport and infrastructure, commercial activity and employment, tourism, community facilities and the natural environment. The LPS seeks to address the Town's requirement to develop options to meet housing targets under the State Government's Directions 2031, Perth and Peel @ 3.5 Million and the Central Sub-regional Planning Framework.
Formal advertising of draft LPS concluded on 30 March 2020, the Town would like to thank everyone who provided a submission. On 26 May 2020, Council considered a report on the outcomes of advertising of the LPS, and endorsed the draft LPS for submission to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC).
