Dave Warner delights audience at Cambridge Library

Cambridge Library welcomed a full house on Friday, 1 May for An Evening with Dave Warner, a special author talk celebrating the award-winning Western Australian writer, musician and performer.
Hosted by the Town of Cambridge, the free community event gave attendees the chance to hear from Dave about his latest novel, Sound Mind Dead Body, while also enjoying stories from his creative career and and some live songs.
Dave Warner is one of Western Australia’s most recognisable creative figures, known for his contribution to literature, music, screenwriting and storytelling. He is the author of nine novels and six non-fiction books, with his first novel, City of Light, winning the WA Premier’s Book Award for Fiction. His 2015 novel Before it Breaks also received the Ned Kelly Award for best Australian crime fiction.

Before becoming widely known as a crime novelist, Dave first came to national prominence as the frontman of Dave Warner From The Suburbs, whose album Mug’s Game was certified Gold. He has also been named a Western Australian State Living Treasure and inducted into the WAMi Rock’n’Roll of Renown.
The evening was a warm celebration of books, music and local storytelling, with Dave sharing insights into his writing journey, creative process and the inspiration behind his latest whodunnit.
Mayor Gary Mack attended the event and welcomed the audience, acknowledging the important role Cambridge Library plays as a place for learning, creativity, conversation and community connection.
The Town thanks Dave Warner for sharing his time and talent with the Cambridge community, and acknowledges the Cambridge Library team for organising another well-attended and engaging event.
