City Beach Vertical Wall & Groyne Repairs

The Town of Cambridge manages a number of marine assets located at City Beach and Floreat Beach. These include the Floreat and City Beach Groynes, the City Beach Seawall and City Beach Vertical Wall. In 2023 the Town engaged a coastal and port engineering company to undertake a condition inspection of the Towns marine structures.

The inspection highlighted maintenance repair works required on Floreat Groyne and City Beach vertical wall.

The Town will undertake these maintenance repair works in FY24/25. The project will be part funded by the Department of Transport, who will provide $200,000 through their Coastal Adaptation and Protection Grants.

Progress Updates

A Request for Tender (RFT) is currently out for advertising, and it’s anticipated works on ground will commence in February 2025.
