- Project scheduleStage One Construction: Complete
Last Updated: 20/12/2024
This project will improve disability access into and within the Lake Monger Recreation Club, as well as reconditioning and improving the layout of amenities, whilst preserving the heritage of the existing building.
The design considers construction to be implemented in two stages in an effort to minimise disruption to the ongoing operation of the club.
Proposed Stage One works:
- Upgrade main entrance to include a ramp for compliant disability access
- Add two compliant accessible parking bays
- Add a public Universal Accessible Toilet (UAT) at the external northeast corner of the building
- Upgrade north end of building to increase the capacity of female toilets, add male toilets, and add a UAT
- Expand the existing storeroom
- Rectify the poor roof condition
- Provide a compliant doorway to the veranda area from both the function hall, and bar area.
Proposed Stage Two works:
- Redevelop change room and toilets at the south end of the building to renew the male toilets, increase privacy, add a UAT and add female toilets.
- Provide a compliant accessible path of travel around external areas of the building, and improve connection to existing footpaths.
- Improve access between the main bowling green and the building.
- Renew and upgrade the south veranda roof.
- Adjustment and landscaping to garden beds.
Progress Updates

Construction works have been completed, including connecting the building to mains sewer line. The new public Universal Access Toilet is open for the community to use. Construction of Stage Two works was scheduled to progress in 2024, but has been postponed to be undertaken in 2025, pending Council approval.
