Consider a Charity
Giving your mattress a second life can truly help someone in need. Charities can resell good‑quality items or pass them on to people rebuilding their lives. Please only donate clean, unstained mattresses, as damaged ones cost charities to dispose of. If yours is still in good condition, consider donating it to a charity that offers free collection. For many people without a safe place to sleep, your mattress could make a real difference.
Booking your Mattress Collection
Each residential household in the Town of Cambridge is eligible for two mattresses collected per year.
Mattress collection requests are not automated, each one is booked individually by a Waste Administration Officer. Once your request has been processed, you’ll receive an email confirming your collection date and instructions for placing your mattress out, so please also check your junk or spam folder in case the confirmation lands there.
