A high-quality landscaped miniature golf course complete with a ceremony pavillion and children's playground, has been approved as part of the Wembley Golf Course hospitality precinct redevelopment.

Council at its March meeting approved construction of the $3.5 million miniature golf facility which will complement the current $10 million investment in the new hospitality facilities at the Wembley Golf Course. The investment of the miniature golf course will generate additional funds and user fees will pay for development over time.

The miniature golf course will be a scaled down version of a full sized golf course taking into account tee and hole placements and featuring lavish landscaping, water features and shady trees.

The redevelopment design also incorporates a ceremony pavilion, for weddings and other events, and a children's playground with shaded seating areas that will complement the alfresco area of the new restaurant.

The new miniature golf course will be unique to Perth with 9 of the 18 holes being wheelchair accessible, set to challenge people of all ages and skill levels as golfers engage with sand traps and water features.

The works will also see alterations to the existing layout of Wembley Golf's Tuart Course, so that it maintains its Par 71 rating and improvement to the short game practice area.

Due to open later this year, this family-friendly addition to Wembley Golf Course has been designed to complement the redevelopment of the hospitality and retail area.
