The Town of Cambridge advises patrons that the northern half of the driving range at Wembley Golf Course will be temporarily closed from Monday 20 April to Friday 5 June 2026 (inclusive) to enable further rectification and upgrade works.

The southern half of the driving range, which has already been completed, will remain open as usual throughout this period. The Town appreciates the community’s patience while these improvements are carried out.

“Wembley’s driving range is a really popular facility, so we’re pleased we can keep the completed southern half open while we finish the next stage of works,” Mayor Gary Mack said. “We appreciate everyone’s patience, especially during busy periods, as we work to improve the overall experience.”

During the works, patrons should expect reduced bay availability, which may lead to wait times during peak periods, as well as intermittent construction noise while works are underway.

The central stairs will be temporarily closed. To access the upper level of the driving range, please use the southern stairs or the lift, and follow all onsite signage and directions.

“These improvements are about protecting the facility for the long term and making sure Wembley Golf Course continues to deliver a high-quality experience for locals and visitors,” Mayor Mack said. “It’s a great example of the Town investing in the places our community uses and values.”

This next stage of works builds on the first phase of rectification and upgrade works completed on 5 September 2025, which delivered key improvements to renew and protect the facility for the long term.

Phase one focused on the southern half of the building and included replacement, cleaning and protective treatment of steel components, cleaning and painting works, upgraded stormwater management to improve future weather resistance, and installation of a new façade system.

The 2026 works will continue similar rectification and upgrade works to the northern end of the driving range, along with the remaining stair and access upgrades, as part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, high-quality community facilities and improving the overall patron experience.
