Bold Park Night Stalk

Join the Friends of Bold Park Bushland for an after-dark guided walk to discover some of the nocturnal animals that inhabit Bold Park.

Evenings offer the best chance to observe native wildlife as they emerge from their daytime hiding places. Listen for quendas rustling in the undergrowth, spot geckoes on tree trunks, and watch for bats flying overhead. Look out for orb-weaver spiders and use your torch to spot the shining eyes of wolf spiders. With luck, you may see a tawny frogmouth, boobook owl, or a brushtail possum in the trees.

This is a ticketed event with limited places. Tickets are required for all attendees over 4 years of age. Children aged 4 and under are free, though the late finish may not be suitable for very young children.

The walk follows an established trail with some uphill sections, requiring a moderate level of fitness. Please wear closed-in walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a torch. Binoculars are recommended for spotting wildlife in the treetops.

The event will proceed in rainy weather, as it provides good conditions for spotting frogs. It will only be cancelled, with refunds issued, if a severe weather warning is in place.

This event is supported by a Town of Cambridge community organisation support grant.
