The annual Perron Institute Hole in One Day was a great success on Sunday, 12 October 2025, bringing the community together at Wembley Golf Course for an afternoon of fun, competition and support for vital youth mental health research.
Sixty golfers stepped up to attempt the 135-metre hole-in-one challenge, each vying for the impressive $250,000 prize. While no one managed the ultimate shot, Peter Byers was crowned nearest-to-the-pin champion and took home a $2,000 Turtle Travel voucher. Spectators enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the course, cheering on participants and celebrating the community’s collective contribution to an important cause.
The event capped off weeks of fundraising activities, including the popular Golden Ball Challenge, corporate golf days, and Play with the Pros sessions. Families also enjoyed a Kids Mini Golf Day with Fat Cat the week before, where Wembley Golf Course welcomed the inspiring Little Telethon Stars. All proceeds supported Telethon7 Perth and the Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science, funding life-changing research into youth mental health.
Together with its partners, the Town of Cambridge has now helped raise more than $900,000 over six years to support this critical work — and is proud to play a part in making a difference for young people across Western Australia.
