As Verge Valet™ celebrates five years in the Town of Cambridge, additional collection days are being introduced in response to strong community demand.

Launched in November 2020, Verge Valet™ enables residents to schedule bulk and green waste collections at their convenience, replacing traditional fixed verge pickups.

Due to increased demand, residents can now book collections on Friday, 7 November, and Friday, 14 November, in addition to the regular Tuesday service.

Mayor Gary Mack said Verge Valet™ had transformed the way residents manage household waste.

“Verge Valet™ is cleaner, more efficient, and far more convenient for our residents,” Mayor Mack said.

The strong uptake demonstrates how effectively our community has accepted the programme and its environmental benefits.

The service also helps keep local streets tidier by reducing the time waste sits on verges and minimising litter.

“Cambridge has consistently shown its satisfaction with Verge Valet™ over the past few years, with positive feedback from residents and some of the highest uptake rates across the councils that use the service,” said Libby Eustance from the Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC), which delivers Verge Valet™.

“We are pleased to offer more collection dates over the coming months, and we recommend residents book in as soon as possible to beat the end-of-year busy period and Christmas break.”

Residents can book online at vergevalet.com.au or via the Town's website. Each property is entitled to two bulk waste and one green waste collection (up to three cubic metres each) per financial year.

Different arrangements are in place for apartment complexes, which must make bookings through their strata manager or caretaker.
