The WAFC Retrofit Project aims to reconfigure parts of the City Beach Oval Pavilion to improve functionality, inclusivity, and the overall experience for users. The project focuses on upgrading changeroom amenities and enhancing the umpires room to better support game-day operations and community use. This well-used facility supports a variety of local sporting clubs and seasonal activities, including football and tee-ball, but some areas—such as the away changeroom—are currently underutilized and present opportunities for improvement.
Proposed upgrades include replacing four urinals with two toilet pan cubicles to provide more inclusive facilities. Feedback from the Wembley Community Advisory Facility Committee (WCAFC) also highlighted the need to expand the umpires room by incorporating part of the away changeroom, allowing space for a shower, toilet, meetings, and equipment storage.
The Town is working closely with stakeholders to deliver meaningful upgrades that support the pavilion’s role as a valued community asset.
