Parenting Between Cultures
Are you parenting in a culture different to your upbringing? Or are you looking for ways to balance cultural differences between you and your partner?
Raising children in a new country and different culture can be a challenge. Parents may wonder how to respond when children ask for sandwiches rather than cultural meals, or how to navigate unfamiliar customs such as playdates and sleepovers.
We will explore:
- Culture and how it impacts your parenting
- How culture is passed on to children
- What parts of culture work well and not well in your family
- How culture affects your child's identity and wellbeing
- Decision making that works for your family's culture.
This workshop is for parents and carers with children aged 0-12 years. Participants are welcome to bring their own interpreters.
