Major Plans & Strategies

The Strategic Community Plan outlines the Town of Cambridge community's long-term vision, values, aspirations and needs for the next 10 years, and guides the priorities for future Council projects.

The minor 2025 review incorporates feedback from the MARKYT Community Scorecard and other engagement, confirming what matters most to our community and refining our objectives, measures and focus area.

A Corporate Business Plan, together with the Strategic Community Plan, forms a Local Government's 'Plan for the Future' according to the Local Government Act 1995 and the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996.

Long-term objectives and planning are outlined in the Strategic Community Plan, whilst the Town's Corporate Business Plan sets and supports the medium-term direction over the current four-year period.

The Strategic Community Plan is supported by an efficient and reliable Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and Asset Management Policy (No 006) to ensure the Town remains as one of the ‘best liveable suburbs’ for future generations.

The Communications Strategy has been developed in line with the updated Strategic Community Plan (SCP) and will provide guidance to the Town’s Administration staff members responsible for creating and approving the Town’s communications.

The Town of Cambridge has developed a Sustainability Strategy following a community consultation.
The Sustainability Strategy intends to guide the development of future plans, programs and activities throughout the Town to support our strategic goal of being an environmentally responsible Town that leads by example and embeds sustainable practices into our operations.

The CCTV Strategy provides a framework and criteria for planning, implementing, maintaining, and managing the Town’s CCTV systems in line with legislative requirements, the Strategic Resource Plan, and the ‘Safe and Secure Cambridge’ Community Safety & Crime Prevention Plan.

The purpose of the Strategic Waste Plan is to provide strategies and actions to guide the residential, business and government communities of the Town to improve waste minimisation practices consistent with the State’s vision of making Western Australia a sustainable, low-waste, circular economy in which human health and the environment are protected from the impacts of waste.

The Community Engagement Framework guides and supports Elected Members and staff when undertaking engagement activities by encouraging a consistent and coordinated approach to Community Engagement.

The Asset Management Plan is a comprehensive process to ensure the delivery of services provided by the Town of Cambridge (the Town) are supplied in a financially sustainable manner.

The purpose of this Asset Management Plan (AMP) is to review the current and ongoing cost of providing building assets and support the future delivery of building assets that meet the requirements of the community and end users within the available budget.
