2017 Local Schools Art Exhibition

Our annual Local Schools Art Exhibition to help encourage and support young aspiring artists opened on Thursday, 7 September, at The Boulevard Centre in Floreat. The exhibition was a great success with 66 students from local primary schools West Leederville, Floreat Park, Lake Monger, Kapinara, City Beach and International School of WA taking part. Students displayed a wide range of artwork including sculptures, photography, collage and paintings.
Deputy Mayor Pauline O'Connor JP, Patrycja Rosinska from the Town's Community Development team, and local artist Amanda Zuvela were tasked with the difficult job of selecting winning entries in three categories 'Encouragement Award', 'High Commendation Award' and 'Overall Winner'. After much deliberation, the winners were announced on Thursday with students receiving their awards in front of a crowd of family and friends.
The 2017 Local Schools Art Exhibition will be displayed at the Floreat Forum Shopping Centre until Monday 18 September 2017.
The Town would like to thank all the students who participated and teachers who helped run this enjoyable event.
