Town leader recognised with WALGA Eminent Service Award 2025

The Town of Cambridge congratulates Kelton Hincks, former Director Infrastructure and Works, on his recent award of the prestigious WALGA Eminent Service Award for 2025.
The award acknowledges Mr Hincks' exceptional contribution and dedicated service to local government in Western Australia over three decades.
Mr Hincks began his career in local government as an Irrigation Maintainer at the City of Melville and quickly progressed through various leadership roles, including significant tenures at the City of Melville and the City of Rockingham.
At the Town of Cambridge, Mr Hincks notably served three times as interim Chief Executive Officer, including during the time of his nomination for this esteemed honour. He has recently taken on an exciting new role at the City of Canning.
Mr Hincks’ commitment and vision have significantly impacted the Town of Cambridge, leading strategic business improvements in the areas of:
- Integrated Planning & Reporting
- Project Management
- Community Consultation
- Asset Management
- Customer Service
- Sustainability
- Work Health & Safety
- ...and many more.
His leadership has also resulted in the successful delivery of various iconic infrastructure projects such as the Perry Lakes Water Replenishment Scheme, Sydney Cheek Pavilion Refurbishment, Galup (Lake Monger) Management Plan, Floreat Surf Life Saving Club and other sustainability initiatives, earning the Town the Platinum Waterwise Council Award in 2023.
The WALGA 2025 Local Government Awards ceremony was held on 19 July 2025.
