Spotlight on a Volunteer
Nominate a Local Volunteer
As a part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to recognise our dedicated local volunteers, our Community Development team provides regular "Spotlight on a Volunteer” opportunities to showcase tremendous contributions to the Cambridge and wider communities.
This programme
enables community members, volunteers, and volunteer organisations to nominate worthy candidates who they feel deserve recognition for their contributions.
Successful nominees will be recognised on the Town’s social media platforms, the Town’s website, and Cambridge News. Each of the volunteers featured in the spotlight will receive a voucher for $100 to spend at a local eligible business of their choice (conditions apply*).
Individual volunteers will also be invited to attend and be recognised at the Town’s annual Volunteer Recognition Function held each May.
Selection criteria is as follows:
i) A Town of Cambridge resident who has made a significant voluntary contribution either within or outside the Town of Cambridge
ii) An individual (not necessarily a resident) who has made a significant voluntary contribution to benefit either Cambridge residents or a community group/organisation operating within the Town of Cambridge
iii) The individuals time and effort is above the standard expected of any citizen (hours of time volunteered, range of tasks undertaken and length of service) and sets an example for others;
iv) The individual must qualify as a volunteer under Volunteering Australia’s definition: “Volunteering is time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain.”
