Sustainable Native Gardens/Verge and Design

Native Garden.png

Smart design using WA endemic plans that are beautiful, habitat, water wise, and enhance the landscape is important at this time of year, as we see more native bushland being cleared and soils being pushed to their limits to support non-endemic plans.

This workshop will help participants understand:

  • Why native plants are important to our Perth landscape for fauna, soil biology and climate
  • Perth soils – soil pH testing demonstrated along with mason jar test
  • How to read their landscape to create a waterwise bush landscape with native ground covers, creepers, shrubs, bushes and trees to suit every part of your property

  • Where to find plants common to the area to suit their natural soil type and where to purchase endemic plants.
